Wood County Schools would like to provide a final update regarding the situation at Parkersburg South High School. Students have returned to their normal daily schedule, and the school day is continuing as usual. Following a review of the situation, Chief Board of the Parkersburg Police Department has indicated that the threat does not appear to be credible. Wood County Schools greatly appreciates the prompt response and assistance of Chief Board and the Parkersburg Police Department as they worked alongside our district safety team and school administration to ensure the well-being of students and staff. Out of an abundance of caution, the Parkersburg Police Department will have additional officers on campus for the remainder of the school day. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our parents and guardians as we worked through this situation.
